Who Is Afraid Of A Real Inquiry?
.
By Uri Avnery
“If a real Commission of Inquiry had been set up (instead of the pathetic excuse for a commission), here are some of the questions it should have addressed:

1. What is the real aim of the Gaza Strip blockade?
2. If the aim is to prevent the flow of arms into the Strip, why are only 100 products allowed in (as compared to the more than 12 thousand products in an average Israeli supermarket)?
3. Why is it forbidden to bring in chocolate, toys, writing material, many kinds of fruits and vegetables (and why cinnamon but not coriander)? “

The Products Israel Blocks From Gaza
.
The Economist reveals what Israel allows into Gaza and what it doesn’t. Amazing. Punitive, without rhyme or reason:
![]()
“Gisha took the Israeli authorities to court, to try to force them to provide the information of what exactly is allowed for import to Gaza, and why.
“Preventing children from receiving toys, preventing manufacturers from getting raw materials – I don’t see how that’s responsive to Israeli security needs.”
And Gisha’s director, Sari Bashi, further says that some of the prohibitions appear to be absurdly arbitrary: “I certainly don’t understand why cinnamon is permitted, but coriander is forbidden. Is there something more dangerous about coriander? Is coriander more critical to Gaza’s economy than cinnamon? This is a policy that appears to make no sense.”
She argues that if there is a logic behind such decisions, the military should reveal what it is.”
And here we are approaching the truth of the matter:
‘Collective punishment’
The lack of clarity causes immense frustration not just among Gazans, but among aid groups, diplomats, and the United Nations – which has described Israel’s blockade as “collective punishment”
The problem, they say, is not just the shortages themselves, but the unpredictability and changing nature of what is permitted for import.”
“Among the large range of goods currently forbidden are jam, chocolate, wood for furniture, fruit juice, textiles, and plastic toys.”
BBC
The real aim of the blockade is to slowly starve the Palestinian people, so as to weaken them and then to ethnically cleanse the area –
but by God – they will never succeed in it, never!
What To Do After Israel’s Attack On The Gaza Aid Flotilla
.
“Americans shouldn’t bother with letters or emails to US Senators or Representatives, or Obama; AIPAC will be there ahead of you with more letters and money than you can generate. Go instead directly to the local offices of US Senators and Representatives, stay until you speak personally to the senior person there, and make your case as forcefully as you can. Make sure as many people hear you as possible — but be polite, and leave your signs at home.
For the world community, now is the time and this is the incident to drive home the UN “Uniting for Peace” Resolution, in both the Security Council and the General Assembly as needed. The nationalities of the victims will at least neutralize many European countries that might have opposed it before. Sanctions, embargoes, even the suspension or expulsion of Israel from the UN itself, do as much as quickly and as forcefully as possible.”

How Israeli Propaganda Shaped U.S. Media Coverage of the FLOTILLA Attack

Mavi Marmara doctor treating an Israeli Zionist soldier on the ship before the Zionists took over and destroyed the evidence (except for this one).
This picture / video was not shown to the public in the US or Europe or elsewhere, as it was not available. The rest was destroyed (“confiscated”) by the Israeli Zionist Army.
Shaping The American Media
“This campaign of suppression and propaganda worked to shape American media coverage (as state propaganda campaigns virtually always work on the gullible, authority-revering American media). The edited IDF video* was shown over and over on American television without question or challenge.”
*[In this video (see pic below), shown all over the world, the sky was light grey, whereas the truth is that the attack happened at 4 - 4:30 am, with pitch black sky: they came late at night, at pre-dawn prayer-time, like thieves and murderers - that's just what they are!]
“Israel has confiscated some of the most important material for the investigation, namely the films, audio and photos taken by the passengers [and] journalists on board and the Mavi Marmara’s security cameras. Since yesterday, Israel has been editing these films and using them for its own PR campaign. In other words, Israel has already confiscated most of the evidence, held it from the world and tampered with it. No court in the world would [trust] it to be the one examining it.” …

Israeli Zionists had lists of wanted persons on the Ships To Gaza (some six persons are still unaccounted for!). Here one of those lists was taken away from a briefly captured Israeli Zionist soldier.
Also:
Israeli spokespersons are obviously under orders to use the term “lynching” when they describe what the flotilla people were trying to do to the Israeli soldiers who boarded the ships.” …
Israels obscene use of the term lynching
And:
“To any normal person, this may sound crazy. Heavily armed soldiers of an elite commando unit board a ship on the high seas in the middle of the night, from the sea and from the air – and they are the victims?”
